Integration para table tennis via WTTC

The Dutch Table Tennis Association (NTTB), the Organizing Committee of the WTTC and the Dutch Foundation for disabled athletes started a partnership to raise funds for the further integration of table tennis. This Foundation is chosen as charity fund during the 2011 WTTC in Ahoy Rotterdam (8 to 15 May).
The choice for disabled athletes is logic, based on the ambition of the NTTB to further integrate table tennis. Simultaneously with the WTTC, the Dutch Open for Disabled will be organized in Ahoy. About 300 players from 35 associations have entered this Factor 40 event, where important ranking points can be earned leading up to the Paralympics in London in 2012.
A unique situation in the sports world, never before an international table tennis tournament for disabled players was organized simultaneously with the World Championships and on the same location.
