The Rotterdam World Table Tennis Championships can count on a great deal of television coverage. NOS, the host broadcaster, will provide a daily report on the Championships taking place from 8 to 15 May in Rotterdam.
Ton van Happen, the Championships Director, is pleased with the attention the NOS are going to give the World Championships. “Right from the start we’ve been in contact with the NOS so as to be able to guarantee maximum television coverage. Our efforts combined with the co-operation of the NOS have resulted in a very good table tennis offer which table tennis fans in The Netherlands will savour. “ The NOS will be opening on 8 May with an extensive preview of the World Championships and will be providing regular coverage in extra NOS World Championships slots or regular (Studio Sport) programs. On Sunday 15 May the mens singles final will be broadcast live. In addition to the television broadcasts, a live stream of the four television tables will be provided, and from Monday 9 May NOS Langs de Lijn (On the Sidelines) will be on location to produce broadcasts for radio. Van Happen: “With plenty of coverage on TV, radio and internet, The Netherlands cannot fail to be aware of the World Championships. But of course it’s best to feel the atmosphere in Ahoy itself. Tickets can still be ordered via 2011wttc.com, but don’t delay; some days are already sold out.”
